          Spring Japanese party

--

a

Spring is a good time in almost all the cold countries, but in Japan spring is an especially happy time. Since the country emerges from months of cold weather and the flowers bloom, it is the time of Hanami - literally translated as "view the flowers." Hanami the time of the blooming of the cherry trees (or sakura in Japanese).

These cherry trees, just as in Washington DC, give a spectacle of beauty and bring joy to anyone who goes to admire them. The Sakura is a symbol of the spring - a time of renewal and an occasion to celebrate good weather.

You may not live in Japan, and may not visit Washington DC to see the sakura flowers, but you can all still have a Sakura party.

Planning your Japanese spring party

Decoration: You can purchase cherry flowers almost anywhere (online, supermarket, flower-shop, etc.). If you cannot find them, you can use any other small pink flowers and get inspired by the Japanese flower arrangements, like ikebana. If you are having a kids' party, you can make them out of branches and paper; they still look good.

Salad. Try to add a vegetable like daikon (Specialty supermarkets and Asian grocery shops sell it)
