Panama adventure

Would you like to hang out where the pirates used to be? This place has a canal, nice beaches on two oceans only a few miles from each other, untouched, well-protected rainforests, clouded forests, world-class hotels and resorts, and above all, wonderful people.

Panama: Pacific ocean beach

-
No wonder the super-hit reality TV program Survivor has been shot three times there. Not once, but three times. This is the country of Panama, not to be confused with Panama City, Florida (also a great destination).

Why Panama?

Here are some quick facts about Panama and why it is such a popular vacation spot:

1- Panama is almost a bilingual nation (English and Spanish). In many ways the way of life is very comparable to that of the United States including the use of US dollar as the currency. Panama is just a few hours away from most parts of the US (and even fewer hours from the south) and airfares to Panama are relatively low.

2- Panama is not an eco-amusement park destination - it's the real deal. Panama is for the true adventure lover if nature and adventure is what you want, but if you want a relaxing beach vacation with great food and fun, Panama also has it.

3- In Panama City, you can visit the Panama Canal and its museum, enjoy world-class food at a fraction of the price that you pay here, take day trips to the countryside and to Gamboa eco-resort in the middle of the protected Panama Canal watershed considered to be one of the best preserve rainforest in the world.

4- While in Panama you can do something unique: go to beaches in the Caribbean Sea and in the Pacific Ocean in the same trip.

5- In the Caribbean part of Panama, you can visit beach resorts in the same areas where the real pirates of the Caribbean used to hang around. It has forts, historical places, and of course, true natural beauty. And in case you miss shopping, there is a duty free shopping mall with all the name brands.

In summary, on a trip to Panama you can have it all - history, adventure, comfort, nature, good food, nightlife, and shopping.

Panama is a very welcoming country for most nationals. American citizens do not need a visa and do not need to exchange currency or learn any foreign language. Viva Panama!
