Nostalgia:
Girdles were the every day lingerie in the middle of the twentieth century. All girls used to wear girdles every day. It was believed that they helped to shape the body and enable a woman to have good posture. The very small waists of the 50s were probably the result of tight girdles as well. During the 60s the mini skirts brought change, because the long leg girdles were not appropriate for short skirts. The feminist movement also opposed the use of
girdles: To them girdles were symbols of being weak.
Body shaping without the lipo, the diet
and the sweat
Pretty much all of us need some help with our bodies and the body
shapers can give us the butt lift that we want or the flat tummy
effect or a smaller waist line. Best of all, they are much more
comfortable than they used to be in the past. It is also unlikely
that we want to use girdles every day, but when we need the help, it
is there.
The new girdles are easy to use, easy to clean and practically unnoticed under the clothes.
You can select the right girdle for you according to your need. If your problem is the thighs, there are girdles for the thighs, for the butts, for the tummy minus the butt (for people
like Jessica Simpson: small butt), tummy and butts, and of course, the whole body.
How tight should you go?
The girdles or body shapers produce an instant change in your body and they can even help
you improve your posture. But let's be honest the tighter they are, the less comfortable they feel. However there are some designs, which are very comfortable. Very tight garments are not recommended, because besides very uncomfortable, they interfere with circulation, especially in the legs.
Concerning looks, the lingerie lines are coming out with very pretty ones with
elastic lace, and beautiful colors and shapes.
The sizes of girdles usually are based on the size of your waist. The manufacturers assume that your hip should be about 10 inches bigger than your waist. Read Part2:
