Butt augmentation or butt lift plastic surgery
--

--
Many women are seeking to firm up their butt. The most common reason for this procedure is the undesirable shape as a result of massive weight loss.

--
People who are undergoing bariatric surgery typically end up with saggy butts.

A procedure to correct this is called Brazilian butt lift or Latin butt lift. During this procedure the doctors correct excess fat deposits, loose skin, and weak muscles.

Usually this plastic surgery is performed in combination with other procedures such as liposuction to contour the body and liposuction on the thighs to remove the excess fat. It is not a common procedure, but it is gradually gaining popularity. It may also be part of a body lift - a more complex plastic surgery procedure which combines tummy tuck, thigh, and buttock lift. Butt lifts may also combine surgical excision with liposuction.

This plastic surgery procedure lasts from 1 to 5 hours depending on the patient's situation. The surgeon makes the cuts in the groin area. The doctors cut extra skin and tissue and then closes the cut. Butt lift plastic surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia as an outpatient.

Characteristics of the surgery

It leaves visible scars, but they are generally covered with clothes and typically are not prominent. The patients can go back to normal life in 2 to 3 weeks. As with any surgery there are risks. You have to understand the risks before you decide if you want to have the procedure. Among the risks is the loss of sensation in the area. Right after surgery, the patient may also experience swelling, bleeding, discomfort and tightness. This as all surgeries have many risks and you should ask the doctor about all of them.

How much does a butt lift cost?
Depending on the area you live in it can cost from $2,000 to $10,000. Since this is an elective procedure, the insurance does not cover this procedure. In some cases, however, patients who undergo gastric bypass surgery or similar surgery for medical reasons, may be able to get paid by their insurance provider for this procedure. It is best to discuss this with your plastic surgeon and healthcare provider before the procedure so that you do not have any problems later on.
