Green Tea Masala Chai---

 4 to 5 servings
Preparation time: 7 minutes

Green tea is considered as a healthy ingredient, because it is rich in anti-oxidants and other cancer fighting substances.  It can be drunk as a simple tea or you can spice it up with this Indian recipe: Green tea masala chai.   

 Ingredients

5 cups water 
2 teaspoons green tea or 2 green tea bags
a pinch of cinnamon powder
a pinch of green cardamom powder or 3 cardamom pods
a pinch of saffron (optional)
2 tablespoons  of almonds
sugar to taste

Preparation:

1- Powder the almonds.  


2- Put to boil the water, cinnamon, cardamom and clove.  

3-  Add the green tea and saffron and take it off the stove.  Let it sit for about 3 minutes.

4- Add the powdered almonds and sugar to taste.   

Serve immediately
