Spring body rituals

Winter can be fun at times, but it takes a toll in our skin. The cold weather can cause dry skin, rough areas, dry hair, chopped lips and irritated skin. As spring approaches we can correct the winter damage and look beautiful.

The ideal scenario is to get a pedicure, manicure, a professional body treatment and a facial, but a DYI at home also gives great results, here are some suggestions:

Body exfoliation

This will prepare your skin by getting rid of dead cells and rough areas. It will make your skin ready to receive more pampering to become soft and silky. There are many good products to get rid of dry skin on your body. Start pampering yourself with a nice exfoliation with an uplifting fragrance, such as citrus or floral. You can make it at home (body exfoliation) or just order one ready to use. These are some of our favorites:

L'Occitane Ultra Rich Shea Body Scrub
This is a rich exfoliating cream ideal for dry and dehydrated skin. It contains shea butter and wheat germ oil. Cost $ 34.00

Philosophy Senorita Margarita Hot Salt Scrub
This salt-based formula will slough off rough areas in seconds. It is gentle and smells great. The ultimate happy hour. It costs $25.00

Alba Hawaiian Body Polish, Sugar Cane
Almost all organic, it has sugarcane to exfoliate, while honey and nut oils nourish with citrus fragrance. $12.00

Neutrogena Energizing Sugar Body Scrub, Fresh Citrus.
Its natural sugar, oils and fresh citrus scent invigorate and leave the skin soft. $11.50

What is the next step after exfoliation?

Now that your skin is soft, you need to put on some body lotion. Use a rich cream on the rough areas of your elbows and heels. You can use natural butters, such as shea butter or cocoa butter, or buy a product, such as:

L'Occitane Ultra Rich Body Cream
It has 25% shea butter, making this cream very rich. This cream is ideal for very dry skin.  $34.00

Philosophy Frozen Lemon Custard Body Souffle
It is creamy, light, fluffy, and smells somewhat lemony. $15.00

De-luxe Shea Butter 100% Pure with Lavender Essential Oils
Pure shea butter feels oily for a few moments, so it is better to use before bed and wait a few minutes so your sheets will not get dirty, but it is a great ingredient for very dry skin, especially for cracked feet and dry legs.  $ 10.00
